Late spring is the start of our shad run in the valley rivers. This year if the weather stays good it should be a really good year. The boys fished for shad at Verona the first week of May and did well. The next week we fished our stretch of the river and did even better, They are now casting 30 ft shooting head set-ups with 2 weighted flies. They lack a little strength due to their age but they can cast it far enough to catch lots of shad.
